Keeping us on our toes!

We had a great night that began at 3:30 with Nora taking a nice swig of some sort of liquid potpourri. After 6-7 episodes of vomiting, a call to poison control, a call to a doctor from church, and her being so lethargic to the point where she just would not stay awake even after shaking, we spent the next 3 hours in the ER. Of course, by the time we got into a room she was somewhat back to her normal self, and after some blood work, a chest x-ray, two teddy bears, Nora was running around the room and making us look like idiots for bringing her in, we were out of there.

The good news is that any "danger for any mental issues" has passed, but we do need to keep an eye on "any sharp abdominal pains." Nora has assured us that she will let us know immediately if she feels any of those pains.

So, if you're keeping score, since Thanksgiving:
1. Tumble down a flight of stairs
2. Three fingers burnt on a hair straightener
3. A poisoning epidsode

Uh Oh...

I can only imagine what these two will do when they are older. I am sure we've only just begun in the fun times.
If I would have let her she would have rolled around in it for hours.
Now she feels guilty and has a small thought of trying to put it back on the roll....nah.

1st Day of School

Well today was Nora's first day of school....well at least first day of Mother's Day Out.  We were told that she did great. In fact on her take home sheet it said "She loved Chapel" .....I am not sure what exactly she loved...but Great! She ended up taking a 2 hour nap, not on her nap pad of course, but I can't complain. She had a great day.
She doesn't exactly like wearing her new back pack.
I think this was the look on her face all day....except for chapel!

Nora Walking!

After weeks of anticipation and Bennett chasing (which is hard to do when he's running and she's crawling), Nora is finally taking some serious steps.

Some Marathon Shots

A few of us ran the half-marathon last weekend, and then some other wimps ran a leg each of the marathon relay. Other than the fact that I had stopped training about 2 months before the race (with my longest run being 5 miles), that it was raining and 47 degrees at the beginning of the race, that I had to go to the bathroom at mile 2 and didn't go until mile 11, and that my doctor told me I need to lose 20 pounds (maybe I'm not in the best running shape), it was a really fun day.

Here are Ben, Courtney, and I finishing the half-marathon. You can tell by the looks on our faces that it was a bit more of a struggle for me than it was for Ben or CJ.

Zach and Haley beat us by like 4 minutes after they claimed they would be happy to finish in 3 hours. I would like to take this opportunity to point out that not one member of our group has bloody nipples.

Here is my just absolutely beautiful family. Nora was a trooper on the nice chilly day.

Nora in her cute little sunhat...she was thrilled that we were about to head home.

Catching Up

We haven't posted in a while, so let's catch you up. A couple weeks ago, Nora had some minor surgery to get tubes in her ears and to fix her clogged tear duct. We're thankful to have it all done, and we think it's helping some. So...here are some pictures from the blessed event.

We had to be at the hospital at 6:00, and she wasn't allowed to eat until after the surgery. She was one tired and hungry and unhappy girl.

Here is the scary doll that kept coming around speaking in a really high voice. (Sorry if this lady is anyone's grandma...it really was the doll that was creepy...not the lady...she was pretty nice.)

Unfortunately they wouldn't let us or our camera into the OR (I've always wanted to be on a doctor TV drama.), but here is the sweet little thing getting ready to go home from surgery. And she got a sweet build-a-bear out of the deal.

And one more...at home the afternoon after the surgery. Obviously the recovery was very difficult for her. She can barely even muster a smile. Oh...and she got a sweet Integris gown out of the deal, thanks to the friendly nurse who let us sneak her out with it on.

1st Easter

Out of all the pictures we took this weekend this one is my favorite.

Nora's very first Easter egg hunt with all her cousins.

Out of everything she got in her Easter basket she liked the card best.

Nora's 1st Easter dress. This will be the first of many and I know she will never let me put a bonnet on again so we got that out of the way.

Nora loved to pat the bunny!

Bennett and Nora having fun in the dirt.
